We are pleased to announce that a sonogram machine has been donated to our Sierra Leone Medical Clinic. This generous donation was given by Dr. Serghany and Western New York MRI. This is a huge blessing to us and to the people we are serving in Sierra Leone! Any form of medical imaging is hard to come by in Sierra Leone. The local Koidu government hospital does not even have a sonogram machine. The use of a sonogram machine will help with a variety of medical diagnoses. This information then helps with providing appropriate treatments and medical management. Medical diagnoses include pregnancy detection and monitoring; lung problems such as Tuberculosis or Pneumonia; heart problems such as ineffective valves or blood flow; blood vessel problems such as aneurysms or blockages; kidney problems such as stones or tumors; liver problems such as cirrhosis or tumors; gallbladder problems such as gallstones; female problems with the breasts, uterus or ovaries; male problems with the testes; thyroid problems such as nodules or goiters; lymph node problems such as blockages or masses. This sonogram machine will be used to its fullest potential. We believe and know that it will help so many people in Sierra Leone. We thank God for his faithfulness in providing us with this piece of lifesaving equipment. See the image below!

Paul Violanti Email Update From Sierra Leone
Paul, Phebian and Pastor Joshua are doing well. In the time that Paul has been there, they have visited the Wellbody Clinic, the Koidu Government Hospital, and the Kono District Medical Director. All of these relationships are key to the long term sustainability and success of our medical mission project. Paul did get to go to the new village of Tefaya and he also visited the village of Jaima. Here is a snapshot of his thoughts and experience:
On my way to these two villages today, Phebian and I where reminiscing of how far we have come in the past four years. What started the conversation was when we went through the first check point before Jaima today. As we started to slow down, Phebian lowered her window and the guard (with a huge smile on his face) called out to her, "hello Phebian my sister, it is so good to see you! Please take care of yourself and thank you so much for bringing medicine to our people!" Now, this is the same check point that 4 years ago, Shajuana, Zach and I found ourselves standing in the middle of the road one evening, while Phebian was taken out of the car by the guards, escorted to their little straw hut and interrogated under candle light for what seemed to be hours! Shajuana, Zach and I were so worried that the guards were going to arrest Phebian. We had no one else to turn to and would have had to walk back to Kodiu in the dark without any flash lights or knowing anyone else in the country. Since then, we sure have come a long way!!!! Now it seems that we go through check points hassle free (even without Benjamin - the guard). We have a very comfortable, reliable truck to maneuver over this rugged terrain. I met three hernia patients today that (on video) praised God for our presence here. We have a huge building going up on prime real-estate in Koidu; we have two dedicated servants in Phebian and Pastor Joshua who are sacrificing alot to start this medical work; we have numbers of volunteers who are helping with the political issues, guarding the construction site, assisting in medical work in the villages, helping with the construction of the building, helping move and store things from containers and from storage warehouses, etc......; and now it seems like we have found a friend (nearby in Koidu) in Wellbody so our staff can learn and share resources from. God has been so faithful for the last four years of this project; I cannot wait to see what the next four years will bring! ........................Paul
